تاريخ الغرض
Deutsch: Rheinböllen war Hauptort des sogenannten „alten Gerichtes“, der altpfälzischen Besitzungen auf dem Hunsrück. Bei dem geminderten Löwen, handelt es sich um den pfälzischen Löwen, den die Wittelsbacher nach ihrer Belehnung mit der Pfalzgrafschaft bei Rhein (1214) erstmals in ihrem Wappen führten.
English: The arms were granted on May 18, 1966. They show the debased lion of the Palatinate, but normally not usually not double-tailed. Rheinböllen was the capital of the called „Altes Gericht“, posessions of the Electoral Palatinate in the Hunsrück mountains.
