زياد مرار هو مؤلف ورئيس النشر العالمي في ساجا للنشر.[1] ولد في عام 1966 في العراق، وانتقل إلى لندن في سن 10. وقد نشر أربعة كتب جمع بين اهتماماته في علم النفس والفلسفة. وسيصدر في شباط / فبراير 2018 رابع «الحكم: قيمة الفهم».
سيرته[عدل]
ترك مرار الشرق الأوسط في عام 1975 قبل أن ينتقل إلى لندن.حضر جامعة إكستر حيث حصل على شهادة البكالوريوس في علم النفس. أنهى درجة الماجستير في الفلسفة وعلم النفس من كلية بيركبيك، جامعة لندن. انضم مرار إلى ساجا في عام 1989 وعمل في جميع جوانب النشر. وعين مديرا للمديرين في عام 1997، ونائب المدير الإداري في عام 2006، وتول دورا عالميا في عام 2010 كمدير للنشر العالمي. في عام 2016، تمت ترقية مرار إلى رئيس، النشر العالمي حيث يتحمل المسؤولية الكاملة عن إستراتيجية ساجا للنشر.
في السنوات الأخيرة في ساجا، ركز مرار أيضا على دعم العلوم الاجتماعية بشكل عام. وقد تحدث وكتب عن هذا الموضوع في سياقات دولية مختلفة، وفي أوائل عام 2015 تم تعيينه في مجلس حملة العلوم الاجتماعية.[2] في الآونة الأخيرة دعي مرار للجلوس في مجلس أمناء موقع الأخبار الأكاديمية في المملكة المتحدة، المحادثة.[3]
وهو أيضا عضو في مجلس إدارة شركة مسرح البيت الكبير، ومركز وقف إطلاق النار للحقوق المدنية.[4]
كتب مرار أربعة كتب. السعادة (2003؛ تغطي كيف يمكن للفلسفة وعلم النفس خلق فهم أفضل للهوية الحديثة)، الخداع (2008؛ حول علاقة الناس بالحقيقة وإمكانية العيش حياة صادقة حقا) والحميمية (2012). والآن «الحكم: قيمة أن يساء فهمها».[5]
